5th Annual Children's Tea

The 5th Annual Children's Tea was a great success, mother attorneys from the San Diego community and their partners gathered at the Westgate Hotel in Downtown San Diego to network and learn from our speakers.

The Hon. Maureen F. Hallahan, the Hon. Joseph Brannigan and the Hon. Jane Alshuler shared with the attendees their experience as they traveled the road to becoming Judges and parents.

Three new board members were announced at the Tea:

           Natalie Prescott, Esq., Latham & Watkins, LLP


Cinderella made a special appearance at the Tea as well as an expert balloon maker. Children created beautiful crafts and they were also entertained by a showing of Pixar's short films.

Background

MAMAS was started in May 2007 as an informal group of attorney mothers. Its founders, Shana J. Black, Nadine Adrian, Heidi Collier, Marie B. Kenny, Angela Kim, Krista Harris Cheatham, Justine M. Phillips, and Nydia Celina Viloria recognized that attorney mothers face unique challenges in light of the demands of the profession, such as longer work hours, pressure to generate business and network, and difficult travel schedules. Inspired by our sister and founding organization, MAMAS of Seattle, MAMAS has grown not only to San Diego, but to other cities across the country, including Sacramento, Denver, Dallas, Philadelphia, and Honolulu.
