3rd Annual Children's Tea
The Westgate Hotel was once again the venue for the The 3rd Annual Children's Tea. Along with the traditional children's activities, this year featured a silent auction.

Chief District Judge Irma Gonzalez was the guest speaker at the 3rd Annual Children's Tea in 2009.

Judge Irma Gonzalez

The Honorable Irma Gonzalez, Chief Justice of the Southern District of California, was born in Palo Alto, CA. She is the eldest of six siblings, and grew up thinking she would follow in her father's footsteps and become a physician until, during her final years at Stanford as an undergrad, she realized her strengths lie in the social sciences. Since graduating from the University of Arizona School of Law, her career has included a Federal clerkship, several years as a Federal prosecutor, several years as an associate attorney in private practice, an appointment as a Federal Magistrate Judge, and an appointment to the California Superior Court. She is the first female Hispanic judge to be appointed to the Federal bench, which she achieved in 1992. Judge Gonzalez, a mother and a recent grandmother. We thank our 2009 sponsors for their support of MAMAS and mother attorneys in San Diego.
